Hebrew is the language of Judaism, so we want our children to begin learning it as early as possible. Children in First to Fourth Grade meet in our Aleph Bet program that emphasizes sequential learning at an individualized pace.

The class meets together to begin with singing, general lessons, and learning games. Then, students are placed in groups by skill level, allowing beginners to focus on learning the Aleph Bet while the more advanced students progress with reading.

We use the Mitkadem program for Hebrew learning that was created by the Reform Movement.  Mitkadem students learn to read Hebrew and enjoy a sense of accomplishment as they progress through a series of well-organized, stimulating, and self-paced ramot (levels).

Students in the Aleph Bet program and their parents also are enrolled in the monthly Avodah family education program.
